An order to expand the port of Zarubino in Primorskiy region for construction of a grain-handling terminal was signed by the Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev.

This port expansion project is to artificially create a land intended for a grain terminal construction with a capacity of 33.5 MMT per year in perspective until 2030. The terminal will include five berths, a warehouse, railway and road fronts, as well as conveyors. The first phase of construction with a capacity of 3 MMT is planned to be completed in 2020.

The terminal, supposed to accept vessels with a carrying capacity of up to 91.3 KMT, will be used for wheat, corn and soybean handling. The project is implemented at the expense of UGC and its subsidiary structure – Far Eastern Grain Terminal LLC.
