Supply 400H Corner Arch Fenders for a Terminal Expansion Project
Located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone is an important hub for both regional trade and passenger transport. As part of the Yutou Dongjin Passenger Terminal Expansion Project, a new 1000GT ro-ro passenger berth has been constructed. Once operational, the terminal will be able to handle an annual cargo throughput of 20,000 tons and 100,000 passenger trips.
Nanjing Deers was selected to supply the rubber fender systems for this project. The delivery included over 50sets Arch Fenders in different sizes and 8sets 400H Corner Arch Fenders, with the latter specifically designed for quay corners to ensure enhanced protection in critical impact areas.
Corner Fenders are particularly valuable because they provide continuous protection around sharp edges and turning points of the quay, where vessels are most likely to make direct contact during berthing. Their robust construction and ability to absorb multi-directional impacts make them an ideal choice to minimize structural damage at critical spots and to extend the service life of the quay wall.
Despite the complex requirements of the expansion project, our team worked closely with the client to provide a tailored solution that ensures both safety and durability. With these fender systems in place, the new terminal will significantly improve passenger and cargo handling capacity, offering more convenient and efficient waterway transportation for residents of Yutou Island and surrounding areas, while also supporting local tourism development.
