This week we are busy with the package and shipment of the foam filled fender, this batch of good will be delivered to North America soon.

Foam filled fender is one of the floating rubber fender systems in the world now, they are widely used on ships, bridges, open ports, dolphin wharfs and etc. The buffer medium inside the fender is lightweight high-elastic closed-cell foam, which will make the fender afloat on the water, hence the operation location will not be influenced.

Generally, the diameter of our foam filled fender is from 300mm to 4500mm and the length can vary from 500mm to 9000mm. The diameter of this newly produced foam filled fender is 1500mm and the length is 4000mm, which is a non-standard size customized for our Customer.

Under the rated deflection, foam filled fender has a lower reaction force when compared with a similar fender berth system. As the most outstanding feature of this kind of fender, it can help absorb part of the internal energy and avoid unnecessary hull shaking when berthing. As per the Customer requirements, the reaction force of our newly produced foam filled fender is 1089KN and the energy absorption is 381KN.M when the rated deflection is 60%.

Compared with another kind of floating fender, pneumatic fender, foam filled fender is no need for inflating, this advantage also helps to avoid the risk of explosion during operation. After being received, it can be used immediately, in this regard, foam filled fender has a lower cost for maintenance.

Our foam filled fenders are equipped with tyres and chains in some instances, but in this order, it is not. So the heavy-duty skin is very important. The reinforced layer and polyurethane elastic skin are perfectly combined to avoid the damage from ships and dock fittings. The black color is required on this skin, however, mostly bright colors can be satisfied too.

As to the accessories, the fender is equipped with 1pc Dia1-1/2″ U1 standard 22-link chain and 2pcs of Dia1-1/2″ G2130 shackles on each end for installation, all accessories are treated with hot-dip galvanized.

Before packing the fender, our Inspector from the Quality and Control Department checked the logo, appearance, and dimensions of the fender to ensure the product is satisfactory. We can also arrange third-party or classification society inspection at our site, such as BV, SGS, CCS, DNV-GL, LR, ABS, ect. Sometimes our customers would come to our site for inspection and every time the results are acceptable.
